BeWell Champion Toolkit

E-Book Design

The BeWell Champion Toolkit is a digital resource created for Penn State Health employees who serve as BeWell Champions—staff members who promote holistic well-being across departments and worksites.

The toolkit was designed to help employees implement evidence-based wellness initiatives, making well-being leadership more accessible across the organization.

Challenges

  • Transforming a dense, text-heavy Word document into an engaging, skimmable digital resource
  • Organizing a large volume of informational content without overwhelming busy healthcare professionals
  • Maintaining brand consistency within Penn State Health and BeWell guidelines
  • Designing for clarity, usability, and long-term reference rather than one-time reading

Strategy & Approach

I restructured the original manuscript into a clean, visually cohesive e-book organized around three core sections: (1) Introduction to the BeWell Champion role, (2) Developing a culture of well-being, and (3) actionable well-being initiatives with implementation and success tips.

The final design balances photography, color, callouts, and white space to support readability, while embedded links allow users to explore programs, tools, and learning opportunities directly from the document.

Outcomes & Impact

The BeWell Champion Toolkit transformed a static internal document into a user-friendly learning resource that empowers employees to take tangible action toward building healthier workplace cultures—bridging education, engagement, and real-world implementation.

This project demonstrates how thoughtful educational design can turn complex wellness frameworks into an accessible, action-oriented toolkit that supports culture change at scale.
